This might be a posture/back health thing.
I saw a similar posture on a poster about currect back posture. Proping up one paw on a stool rung is supposed to keep the back straight.
If I'd had the time I'd try to dig up a image of something similar.
Maybe the guy has back probs. Or maybe he is just chill'n ;)
Coincidentally besides drooling over those persian carperts, had very similar thought regarding posture; seen pictures of Masai warriors I think, standing on guard for long periods of time in a similar position. Stands to reason why it is advocated for people with back problems.
